It is here, in front of one of the most beautiful panoramas of the Alps overlooking Grenoble, that 250 maquisards stood up to the German assaults on 13 June 1944. The tombs of Jean Prévost and many heroes of the Vercors, including that of Eugène Chavant, civil chief of the maquis.
