Discover the Vercors Regional Park

What is the Vercors Regional Nature Park?

The Vercors Regional Nature Park was created in 1970 in the départements of Isère and Drôme.

Key figures:

  • 206,208 hectares of unspoilt nature in the Vercors massif 🌿
  • 84 communes in eight natural regions 🚩
  • 1,800 plant species, 85 of which are protected 🌸
  • 79 species of orchid 🌷
  • 140 species of breeding birds 🦅
  • 72 species of mammal (chamois, stag, roe deer, mouflon, wild boar and ibex…) 🐐

What is the difference between the Vercors Park and the Nature Reserve?

The Reserve is a small part (10%) of the Vercors Nature Park. It is a demarcated area that protects natural spaces and the species they shelter. The aim is to conserve bio-geodiversity = fauna, flora, landscapes, geology, soil and subsoil. 🌿

The Park’s missions

The Park is a natural setting.

Here, you can enjoy the great outdoors while respecting it. The Parc du Vercors has a number of missions on a daily basis: to preserve and enhance the various natural environments, to inform and pass on good practice to the inhabitants of the Vercors, as well as to visitors, and to support the sustainable development of its territory and develop a harmonious relationship between man and his environment!
