Top walks with the most beautiful panoramas

Hiking is sacred here! Anyone who comes to Villard-Corrençon must do at least one short hike. A hike? yes! But with a great view as a reward? We say yes, yes and yes!

The little tip: don’t hesitate to do the same hike at different times of the day, because between a sunrise or a sunset, our hearts sway! 🌄

1 - Le Pas de l'Oeille

If you’re part of the motivated team, head for the Pas de l’Oeille!

There are two possible itineraries: one for the more sporty, starting from Les Clots in Villard de Lans, and another where you’ll have to take the Cote 2000 cable car. This magnificent cable car will save you a few metres in height (and a few drops of sweat too).

Bonus: you’re guaranteed to meet a few marmots and/or ibexes along the way.

📍 Start: Les Clots – Villard de Lans (alternative via the Cote 2000 cable car)

➡️ Distance: 14km (4.8km)

📈 Difference in altitude: +730m ( +240m)

🕐 Time: 5h (3h) return journey

And what do you see at the top: a magnificent panorama of Lake Monteynard and the Vercors of the Trièves. Can you see the Grand Serre imperial eagle on the mountains opposite?

    2 - The Green Pass

    The Col Vert is one of the most accessible passes near Villard de Lans. It’s a must!

    On this hike, you’ll have the right to a first viewpoint at the Roybon hut, with a magnificent perspective over the mountain range. But the objective is not yet achieved, you still have to climb the 110m ascent to reach the Col.

    And what do you see at the top: a spectacular view of Grenoble and the surrounding mountains!

      3 - Col du Liorin

      It’s a shorter hike, but you’re guaranteed a great view on arrival!

      From the centre of the village of Corrençon en Vercors, head towards the Narce valley. After a gentle climb, you’ll reach the Col du Liorin.

      And what do you see at the top: panoramic views of Grande Moucherolle and the Vercors range.

      Height difference: +130m

        4 - Château Julien

        The must-see lookout at Château Julien!

        Château Julien even has 2 viewpoints where you can enjoy superb panoramas.

        Great views for a short walk.

        When you reach the car park, turn left across the plain. At the end, you’ll reach the first viewpoint with a beautiful view of Grande Moucherolle.

        Continue along the path to reach the belvedere. Here you can enjoy a truly 360° view of both the Vercors range and the Rhône valley. Use the orientation table to practise identifying the peaks 😉

        ➡️ Distance: 1.5km

        Height difference: +30m

        🕐 Time: 45min return journey
