Your survival kit for a successful

snowshoeing outing!

👕 A warm under-layer (merino wool or synthetic, forget cotton which retains moisture) and a thin fleece to avoid sweating too much on the way up and not shivering on the way down. Also take a waterproof jacket that you’ll only take out on the way down or on the flat.

👖 Comfortable, warm and even waterproof trousers if possible.

🧤 A good pair of gloves, warmsocks and a hat to protect your head and ears from the cold (extremities are the first to freeze!).

🌞 Don’t underestimate the sun on snow! Glasses are essential to avoid being dazzled by reflections. Also remember a little sun cream on your face in fine weather.
