Good reasons to ski in spring

The days are getting longer, the temperatures are getting warmer, the hats are coming off and nature is gradually waking up. It looks like spring is just around the corner.

But there’s no time to put on your touring trunks and shorts just yet, because spring skiing is waiting for you!

Think your best skiing days are over? Not a chance! We’ll prove you wrong below.

The tracks for you alone

The 4 weeks of February are over and the slopes have opened up a bit. The best turns, the freshly groomed snow, the chairlift waiting to take you back up to the summits… it’s a dream come true, isn’t it?

On the programme: perfect condition for all levels. Reassuring for beginners and 100% fun for regular skiers.

You have to admit that skiing alone on the piste is a real treat!

Sun and more sun

Did you know that in March we gain an average of 4 minutes of sunshine a day?
These precious minutes will ensure that your slopes are lit up by the soft light at the end of the day, but also that your first tracks* are sunny.

More sun also means higher temperatures! Admittedly, skiing in a jumper and taking off a few layers of clothing is not unpleasant.

Here ‘s a tip: don’t forget to put on sun cream, otherwise the ski mask marks won’t be discreet in the office.

Cotton-soft snow

Thanks to milder temperatures, the snow is still excellent, even better than in the middle of winter! Less icy but just as good under your spatulas. For fresher snow, it’s best to ski in the morning, until 2pm.

After that, the quality of the snow will vary according to the exposure of the slopes. So, yes, there’s no more powder, but the snow is still very good and the slopes provide you with a nice blanket of snow, so you can still really enjoy the thrill of skiing!

Quiet skiing, deckchair skiing

Let’s make no mistake, there are 2 teams on the slopes:

The team that’s ready as soon as it opens to make the first tracks before everyone else, and who won’t stop until their legs are shaking or their hunger is stronger!

The other, more relaxed team, after a few tight turns, will quickly start looking for the best terrace. The goal: a great view, a comfortable deckchair and a cold drink!

Because in spring, the days get milder and so does the atmosphere, so we’re going to take it easy and make the most of the fine spring days.

Not just skiing!

The advantage of this period is that there are other activities available to you. So yes, hiking shorts aren’t yet de rigueur, but it’s the perfect combo for activity-packed days, with skiing in the morning and mountain biking in the afternoon, for example.

Farm visits, hiking on the plains, mountain biking, biathlon or ski-wheel lessons, leisure complex, village visits… there’s plenty to fill your day!
