The entrance to the cave served as a hospital for the Vercors resistance fighters (the 'maquis') during the summer of 1944. National Resistance site. Guided geological and historical visits. Son et lumière

A place to remember... On July 27, 1944, the maquis hospital improvised under the porch of La Luire was surrounded by German army troops, and some of the wounded and medical staff were shot, while others were deported. For groups, please inform reception of your presence so as not to interfere with any tours of the cave that may be in progress.
