It connects the various villages of the Quatre Montagnes plateau, all year long.

Three ways to discover the Via Vercors!

On foot with family between Corrençon-en-Vercors and Villard-de-Lans 8.5 km

To discover our surroundings, what could be better than following our lovely trails?

From the centre of Villard-de-Lans, heading towards Corrençon, this portion of the Via Vercors will lead you from the heights to the arrive at the Cote 2000 ski resort, crossing the historic hamlet of Les Pouteils.

Take advantage of the range of landscapes presented along the way, as forests and fields alternate as far as the eye can see. Don’t miss the old luge track from the 1968 Olympic Games.

Then, head back down to the beautiful, preserved village of Corrençon-en-Vercors. This village serves as the gateway to the Vercors Hauts Plateaux Nature Reserve.

Pedal through the gorges between Villard-de-Lans and Méaudre by electric bike 10 km

Discover this portion of the Via Vercors, which will lead you through forest paths, wooden pontoons on stilts and its footbridges to make your way across the Méaudret river.

From Villard-de-Lans, the route starts out on the road, so be careful.

Along the way, you’ll pass by the Vercors Lait Cooperative, famous for producing the famous Bleu du Vercors-Sassenage cheese.

You’ll then walk along the water’s edge and enjoy the typical landscapes of Vercors.

Once you arrive at Méaudre, you’ll discover a little village on this airy and wooded plateau, with its stepped-gable houses. Option to continue to Autrans, though this will add another 9 km.

That little added extra: why not take advantage of your outing to make a trip to the farm?

Take the former tram line between Villard-de-Lans and Lans en Vercors 8 km

Between Lans en Vercors and Villard-de-Lans, discover this almost completely flat Via Vercors trail. In the past, this path was used by the tram from Grenoble heading towards Villard, hence its very straight layout.

From this path, you can take the time to admire the ridges of the dominating Vercors mountain range. As you follow the trail, you’ll make your way along the Bourne, which runs from the Gorges of the same name until it leaves the town of Villard-de-Lans.

And in winter? ❄️

Through the winter period, the trails of the Via Vercors may be travelled with snowshoes. Between Villard-de-Lans and Lans en Vercors, head out to watch the snowkites enjoying themselves across the wide open plains.
