Gaston, the Villard mascot

The legend of Gaston

In those days, Gaston the bear ruled over the Loubière forest ...

Tough but gentle, he was the king of the neighbourhood. When winter came, he would crawl under his duvet in the grotte de la Cheminée, well hidden in the plains of Herbouilly, for a big sleep. But in the forest, three little chatterbox fairies, Agathe, Sophie and Cochette,
were very bored without him. No more jokes, no more furry cuddles, no more playing in the snow… how sad!
So they got out their magic wands and did a little spell to wake up the big sleeper. Gaston opened one eye, grunted a little, but when he saw his fairy friends, he leapt out of bed.
And then it was party time: sliding, rolling, snowball fights… They had so much fun that they ended up running
straight into the village square!
At first, everyone was scared: “A bear?! Fairies?!”. But when they saw Gaston’s face, they melted. Since then, Gaston has become the star of the village, the children’s friend and the champion hugger!

His family and friends!

On the Geymonds roundabout, his whole family is together.

Sometimes Bleuette, his friend the cow, accompanies him to events in the Parc J.Guichard.

Where can I find Gaston?

During the school holidays, he takes part in activities organised by the Tourist Office, and you can find Gaston in the town centre near the Maison du Patrimoine, on the luge park on the Colline des Bains, in the children’s corner of the Tourist Office, on the ski slopes of the Espace Alpin…

When you come across him, don’t hesitate to give him a kiss, he loves cuddles.
