Via Vercors

The ViaVercors is the first low-impact mountain route!

It connects the various villages of the Plateau des 4 Montagnes with one another all year round.

Discover these trails, which are accessible to everyone and suitable for a range of activities all year round!

What is the Via Vercors? We tell you all about it!

There are a total of six sectionsavailable, linking Villard-de-Lans, Corrençon-en-Vercors, Lans-en-Vercors, Autrans, Méaudre, Saint-Nizier-du-Moucherotte and Engins.

Here are three ways to explore the Via Vercors!

On foot with the family between Corrençon en Vercors and Villard de lans 8.5km

What better way to explore the surrounding area than by following our lovely trails?

Starting from the centre of Villard de Lans and heading towards Corrençon, this section of the ViaVercors takes you up to the Cote 2000 ski resort, passing through the historic hamlet of Les Pouteils.

Enjoy the varied scenery, with fields and forests alternating as you walk. Don’t miss the old toboggan run from the 1968 Olympic Games.

Then head back down to the pretty, unspoilt village of Corrençon-en-Vercors. This village is a gateway to the Hauts Plateaux du Vercors Nature Reserve.

Cycle through the gorges between Villard de Lans and Méaudre 10km

Discover this section of the ViaVercors, which will take you along forest tracks, wooden footbridges on stilts and footbridges crossing the River Méaudret.

From Villard de Lans, the route begins on the road, so please take care.

Along the way, you’ll pass the Vercors Lait Dairy Co-operative, where the famous Bleu du Vercors – Sassenage is produced.

You’ll then cycle along the riverbank and enjoy the typical Vercors landscape.

⚠️ This route is recommended for experienced cyclists, as some of the inclines and descents are challenging. We recommend doing this route on foot as a family, rather than by bike.

Once you reach Méaudre, explore this little village on this open, wooded plateau with its houses featuring slate-roofed gables. It’s possible to continue on to Autrans, but this adds a further 9 km to the route.

An extra treat: why not make the most of your outing by visiting a farm?

Follow the old tram route between Villard de Lans and Lans-en-Vercors 8 km

Between Lans-en-Vercors and Villard-de-Lans, discover this almost flat ViaVercors trail. In the past, this route was used by the tram travelling from Grenoble to Villard, which explains its very straight course.

From this path, you can take the time to admire the ridges of the Vercors mountain range towering above. Along the trail, you’ll walk alongside the Bourne stream, which flows to the Gorges du Bourne, just outside Villard de Lans.

⭐ This is the easiest route and suitable for everyone!

Admire a 360° panorama

In Villard-de-Lans, at the top of the Colline des Bains, use the signposts to identify the peaks of the Vercors.

And in winter? ❄️

During the winter months, the ViaVercors trails are accessible on snowshoes. Between Villard de Lans and Lans en Vercors, go and watch the snowkiters having fun on the vast expanses of the plains.
