To make sure you have a holiday that’s 100% fun, check out the checklist of 10 experiences to enjoy in Villard – Corrençon this summer.
Lovers of wide open spaces and fresh air combined with moments of fun activities and well-being, this is the guarantee of an inspiring interlude. 🌿

1 The legendary Traversée du Vercors

A great classic for hikers, this route crosses the Vercors from north to south , taking in the heart of the wild Vercors as it passes through the Nature Reserve.

It’s a great way to get away from it all in a unique massif where plateaux, cliffs, mountain pastures, ridges, passes and forests all come together. You’re guaranteed to get away from it all.

2 Aperitif at Château Julien at sunset

A breathtaking view combined with Olympian calm to admire the night as it sets in? Welcome to the Château Julien lookout, the SPOT to be 🙂

Drive to Bois Barbu and continue to the Château Julien car park. From there, it’s a short walk to the top of the lookout before settling in for a memorable evening. Get your aperitif biscuits and camera out of your bag, with the iconic Grande Moucherolle summit in front of you. You’re ready to immortalise the moment. And cheers!

3 Say hello to the ibex at Pas de l'Oeille

Say Mum, what’s the name of the one with the long horns?
For wildlife lovers, we have THE hike for you that will grant your children’s wishes. See a real ibex, one of the six wild ungulates in the Vercors Park (red deer, wild boar, chamois, roe deer, mouflon).
On your way to Pas de l’Oeille or Lac de la Moucherolle, there’s every chance you’ll come across 1, 2, 3… 50 of them!
This impassive and unafraid animal loves life in a herd and thrives under the Vercors crests.

4 Mario Kart session

3, 2, 1… go! From the top of the Cote 2000 gondola, hurtle down the track behind the handlebars of this amazing machine. A 3-wheeled machine with no engine, the Mountain Kart is accessible to everyone (although you do need to be 1.30m tall 😁 ). Whether in leisurely or sporty challenge mode, the sensation of speed comes from being close to the ground as you descend. Vary the pleasures of sliding and don’t hesitate to challenge your friends and family to a wild race.

5 Take a dip in the aquatic centre

Summer is in full swing, the sun is at its zenith and your children are putting you under pressure? Don’t worry, the Villard aquatic centre has a cool bath in store for you. Located in the heart of the village, as you approach you can already hear the cries of children having fun. Right on cue, the indoor pool is transformed into a wave pool and your little ones have a ball (they’ll sleep well tonight 😉 ). While others soak up the sun on the grassy beaches of the outdoor pool, the slides or the paddling pools for the little ones.
A great experience for all the family.

6 Take to the skies in a gondola lift

In just 7 minutes, with your watch in hand, take to the skies and discover our peaks and panoramas with the Cote 2000 gondola lift. From the hamlet of Balcon de Villard, pick up your lift pass and board with your children. Once you’re on board, the scenery will unfold before your eyes, allowing you to shorten the walk to the signposted paths that will take you to the very top of the Vercors.
The best panoramic views are yours for the taking!

7 Green attitude

A mountain golf course? Not exactly, more like a mountain golf course.

The boundary is subtle, yet significant. Although set at an altitude of 1,100m, the Corrençon golf course is not hilly, but undulating. This 18-hole course has been designed to offer beautiful views without ever destroying nature. Playing becomes just as important as seeing or looking at the exceptional panoramas and the game becomes a hike.

Pleasure for the eyes, pleasure for the game!

8 On the trail of Emilien Jacquelin

Did you know that our top sportsmen and women train in wheel-skiing during the summer season? It’s basically skiing on the road, or the summer version of Nordic skiing 😉 It’s the best way to keep in shape and maintain your skiing sensations. In Corrençon, a biathlon ski wheel area welcomes you every afternoon to try your hand at this activity. The Nordic ESF can also introduce you to biathlon. You might just come across one of our champions on the piste or on the shooting range.

9 Test ride an electric bike

Tempting, isn’t it? An electric bike is the perfect way to get back into the swing of things while you’re on holiday. The motivation’s there, but the fitness a little less so. But that doesn’t matter. You’ll still have to pedal, but this little helping hand when it’s time to get in the saddle will get you back on the bike. Now it’s up to you to ride with others at the same pace. Got a climb on the horizon? Switch to turbo mode, and it won’t even register. And that remote hostel you wanted to reach last year is now within your reach.
Make the most of your mountain biking experience without being restricted.

10 Take time out for a gourmet break

The mountains offer you unforgettable active holidays, because you love to clamber over rocks & flirt with wide open spaces… But it’s also time to take a break and satisfy your cravings. Don’t resist the call of the belly 😉.

Food lovers with a hankering for an icy treat, take note. Treat yourself in one of our many restaurants or simply enjoy a coffee in the sunshine and watch the time go by. That’s what holidays are all about.
