A few rules

– From 1 November 2021, special equipment (snow tyres, chains) will be compulsory. You can choose between 4 snow tyres or at least two-wheel drive chains. Please use the chaining zones provided for this purpose.

– Snow socks are permitted and practical, but please note that they do not replace “traditional” chains.

– As a reminder, it is forbidden to overtake snow-clearing vehicles when they are clearing snow.

Our tips for driving in the snow

If you’re not used to driving in the snow, here are a few tips that may prove useful:

– The best way to drive on snow is to adapt your driving style. Driving smoothly will prevent you from slipping. Don’t drive too fast. Take it easy and stay focused on the road.

– Turn on your lights and check that they are not covered in snow.

– Use engine braking and anticipate your distance. Don’t brake suddenly.

– Go gently uphill. Don’t accelerate too hard.

– When starting off, if you are slipping in first gear, don’t hesitate to start off in second gear.
