Mountain festival

It’s summertime, and what better way to celebrate the beauty and traditions of our mountains than with a day out in the fresh air?
Our not-to-be-missed Fête de la Montagne is back on 15 August. Come and have fun with family and friends in the heart of the Vercors mountains.

On the programme for this year’s event,

To mark this festive day, the two cable cars – Cote 2000 and Pré des Preys – will be open from 9am to 5pm: day fare: €12 for a return ticket and €15 for an unlimited day pass.

  • Introduction to biathlon (laser rifle shooting) by the Villard de Lans Ski School (ESF),

  • Concert and fireworks display.

Full programme 🎉

  • 9.30 am: Sensory walk led by Pied Vert (booking required / €10 per person). Setting off from Les Glovettes, head to Lac du Pré des Preys and set out to explore your five senses,
  • 9.30 am–4 pm: Woodcarving demonstration and grand raffle,
  • 10.00 am – 4.00 pm: Try your luck at winning a hamper full of Vercors produce by guessing its weight,
  • 10.00–16.00: Straw bale throwing competition. Come and pit your skills against the other participants and try to throw the bale as high as possible,
  • 10.30 am / 1.30 pm / 4 pm: Demonstration of herding with a sheepdog. The charity Les Moutons d’Appo works to promote the work of herding dogs. Come and chat to the shepherd and watch a demonstration of sheep and goose herding, near the lake,
  • 10.00–12.00: Demonstration and introduction to fly fishing,
  • From 10.00 to 16.45: Introduction to stand-up paddleboarding on Lac du Pré des Preys. 45-minute session, €5 per person,
  • 10.00–16.00: Making wooden birdhouses. €15 per workshop per person,
  • 10.00 am: Alpine horn demonstration at the foot of the cable car,
  • 10.00–16.00: Demonstration and introduction to bobbin lace-making by the lace-makers of La Picouline,
  • 11.30 am, 2 pm and 4.30 pm: Alpine horn demonstration and taster session,
  • 12 noon: Complimentary aperitif by the lake, with music by “Jess & the Mellowmen”,
  • from 12 noon to 4 pm: Introduction to biathlon (laser rifle shooting) by the Villard de Lans ESF,
  • 1.30 pm to 4.30 pm: Introduction to coarse fishing,
  • 3.00 pm: Family-friendly show “Akasha” by the theatre company Les Indéformidables. Two circus performers and an actress bring you a visual, funny and touching show,
  • 4.45 pm: Results and prize draws for the various activities,
  • 6.00 pm: Demonstration and taster session on the alphorn in the village square in Corrençon-en-Vercors.

All activities are free to attend and open to everyone, unless otherwise stated.
➡️ Activities requiring a fee must be paid for on the day in cash or by cheque.

The day continues into the evening at the hamlet of Les Glovettes 🎆

  • 8.30 pm: Disco concert with the band Golden Fever. Grab your sparkliest shoes and get ready to be swept up in the coolest fever ever,
  • 10.00 pm: Fireworks,
  • 10.30 pm: The concert resumes.

The Mountain Festival takes place on the shores of Lake Pré des Preys.
Access via the Pré des Preys or Cote 2000 cable car (15–20-minute walk):
€12 for a return ticket and €15 for an all-day unlimited pass

Birdhouse-making or woodcraft workshop = €15
Paddleboarding taster session = €5 per session
