OH MY GOAT!

Do you remember going to the farm when you were a child? The sweet smell of straw, the more or less noisy animals and that irrepressible desire to touch everything. Want to activate your Proust’s madeleine? Meet the bubbly Karine and her happy goats. Love in the air

Karine is neither a farmer’s daughter nor a Corrençonnaise. Originally from the north of France, she fell in love with Corrençon en Vercors at the age of 5 during a holiday.

She returned regularly with her family. As Karine grew up, she decided to study engineering. During an internship on a goat farm, her love for goats caught up with her.

And then her true love fell into her lap: Christophe, a pure Corrençonnais. In 2001, after completing their studies, they decided to set up their own goat farm in Corrençon. Karine runs the farm and her husband Christophe also works as a ski instructor in winter and as steward of the Corrençon golf course in summer.

The Vercors has a special way of welcoming and sharing, and I love sharing my visits with people and passing on my knowledge.

One, two... forty goats!

When she set up, Karine had around thirty goats, and over the years she has gradually built up to forty. She makes no secret of the fact: setting up was difficult, and like any other project it takes perseverance and desire. And Karine has no shortage of ideas! All she does is innovate and improve her workshop and goat farm. For example, for the last 15 years she has been developing her tours. Initially for groups, she now offers educational tours for the whole family. And the icing on the cake! You can have a snack at the farm.

In winter, facing the peaks of the Vercors, you can enjoy gourmet waffles, hot apple juice and hot chocolate made with goat’s milk. And in summer, you can treat your taste buds to goat’s milk ice creams with unusual flavours.

Let's goat to Corrençon en Vercors

What Karine loves about the Vercors is the chance to live to the rhythm of the seasons. She can’t get enough of the magnificent scenery. And it’s easy to see why! The panorama from the goat farm is incredible. You can see the Grande and Petite Moucherolle, the Tête des Chaudières and the first peaks of the Vercors High Plateaux Reserve.
Karine also tells us that she was won over by the people who shape this land. When she moved here, she discovered a welcoming, authentic and endearing people. In her opinion, the people here love their region and live by it. They know how to adapt and develop in many different activities.

The people here love their land, they live off their land and I think that’s great.

“I was lucky enough to get an electric bike recently and I love it. I use it to discover the paths around Corrençon.
It’s a real pleasure for me! One ride I often do is up to the Glacière to enjoy the magnificent view once at the top.”
