In the narrow streets of Villard de Lans town centre, come and take part in or cheer on the participants in the Vercors soapbox race, the Vertaco Race!
A race in the heart of the village over 550m long!

Continuous, over the 2 days
Soapbox descents and demonstrations: speed, jumps, obstacles and fun!
Entertainment (music, video game tournaments, children’s activities, etc.) all day long.
Saturday 5th July
10am – 12pm: First trials and tests of the soapboxes. Free ride.
11 a.m.: A new feature: a draisian race!
Open to all children. Bring your own draisienne and take up the challenge on a timed course!
2pm – 6pm: Start of the race and the first timed events. Qualifying phase. Free ride.
8.30pm: Concert on the Place de la Libération.
Sunday 6th July
10am – 12pm: Soapbox descents and free rolling.
11am: New! draisiennes race
Open to all children. Bring your own draisienne and take up the challenge on a timed course!
2pm – 4pm: Race final and time trials.
5pm: Prize-giving ceremony
Prices and access
The race takes place in the centre of the village of Villard de Lans, between Place de la Libération and the Joy hotel-restaurant. Access is free for spectators and open to all.
⚠️ Safety instructions:
– Do not smoke near hay bales
– Do not sit or climb on the hay bales
– Respect the safety zones
– Only cross on pedestrian crossings
– Respect waste sorting
