This summer, just a stone’s throw from Villard-de-Lans at Bois Barbu, an immersive trail will be lit up every evening to offer you a unique experience in the heart of nature. Vercors en Lumières plunges you into the heart of the forest, with its sounds, lights and captivating stories. As night falls, follow Papito and his granddaughter along a signposted, illuminated trail and discover the landscapes, species and stories that shape the Vercors. Each stage reveals a different facet of the region: its geology, its wildlife, its forests and its inhabitants, past and present.

The quest for the Venus hoof

With family or friends, set off on an unusual nocturnal stroll through the heart of the Bearded Wood, and let yourself be carried away by the audio story, perfectly synchronised with the visual effects of the trail. Follow the lights and unravel the mysteries of the Bearded Wood… And above all, to enjoy the show to the full, take your time! Ready for a night-time adventure? 🗺️ The route you’ll be taking is 1.2 kilometres long. ⌛ You should allow around 1 hour to discover all the mysteries of this adventure… 👟 To get the most out of the experience, it’s essential to wear good footwear. The tour takes place outdoors in the middle of the forest.

The event takes place at sunset. Departures depend on the time slot booked. The tour lasts approximately 1 hour, and visitors are invited to take their time and go at their own pace. We strongly advise you to book your visit online (admission is limited). NB: Throughout the summer, times vary according to sunset. On the “Booking” tab, choose the date you want to see the different times available.

What does the ticket price include?
The ticket gives access to the immersive tour and includes headphones (available in French or English).
What happens in the event of rain or bad weather?
The route will be maintained in the event of light or moderate rain. Once in the forest, you will be slightly protected by the trees, but remember to bring waterproof clothing. In the event of extreme weather conditions (thunderstorm, storm), the event may be cancelled for safety reasons. In this case, customers will receive an email and/or text message with details of how to reschedule their visit.
Where can I park?
Free parking is available at the Bois Barbu car-sharing area, right next to the start: 3075 Route de Bois Barbu, 38250 Villard-de-Lans.
Is the tour suitable for children? What about people with reduced mobility?
The experience is suitable for all audiences, young and old, and is particularly suited to families with children. Admission is free for children up to 5 years of age. However, due to the nature of the terrain, the course is not accessible to pushchairs. You can drop them off at the reception area and complete the course using a baby carrier. The trail may be uncomfortable for people with walking or balance difficulties.The tour takes place entirely outdoors on an unpaved nature trail with unlevelled areas, making it difficult for people with reduced mobility to walk. Unfortunately, the trail is not accessible to wheelchair users.
Are pets allowed?
Yes, dogs are allowed if they are kept on a lead throughout the visit, in order to respect the wildlife and avoid disturbing the sensors that trigger the installations.

Yes, subject to availability, you can buy your ticket on site from 8.30pm (payment by credit card only). However, we strongly recommend that you book online to guarantee your slot.
