The project

They’re the people behind a freshly groomed track, a festive event, a cheese with character, a perfectly smooth green and even a timber frame.
They are the locals .

Men and women who live year-round in the heart of our region, contributing to its reputation and hospitality. They work behind the scenes, making a discreet yet essential contribution to the life of our mountains. Singular stories, sometimes spanning 5 generations, told through 10 portraits to be discovered in an iconic book created by the Tourist Office. A year’s work to capture, capture and immortalize these people and their relationship to the land, to nature, to the destination they represent.

Come and meet the people who shape this living land!

Here, as elsewhere, one thing is certain: journeys only make sense when they cross paths with others.

Local people

On these high plains, in Villard de Lans and Corrençon en Vercors to be precise, personalities bring this singular terroir to life, from generation to generation, from family to family and from mentor to apprentice. In this mountainous region, where daily life is organized around the constant contrast of the seasons, these lovers of their land innovate while respecting their traditions. First and foremost: hospitality.

Through these ten portraits, we invite you to meet them. Discovering them means accepting to be shaken up by their attentions, to be amazed by forgotten flavors, and to experience real things alongside them.
